Security Benefit, 2023–2026

Education on individual plan options: loans, in-service distributions, and what happens when you leave an employer.

In the community

I volunteer teaching financial literacy to at-risk youth, in jails, juvenile homes, orphanages, and high schools. It started after I read Rich Dad Poor Dad and realized how few people are ever taught how money works. Budgeting, saving, and credit basics can change the direction of someone's life.

I'm also building an interactive, game-based learning site that teaches middle and high school students about entrepreneurship, markets, and managing scarce resources.

Sample workshop: "Your Money, Your Plan"

  1. Where your paycheck goes. Reading a pay stub: taxes, benefits, and your 401(k) deferral.
  2. The free money. How an employer match works, and why missing it is a pay cut.
  3. Your first safety net. Building an emergency fund before investing more.
  4. Investing without the jargon. Target-date funds, risk, and time in the market.
  5. Life changes. Loans, job changes, and rollovers: what to do and what to avoid.
  6. Your next step. One action each person commits to this week, then open Q&A.
